So, what’s next after the Gal Vorbak and Possessed?
Some of you may remember a while back when I started this beast:
It is a little worse for wear, and to be frank I didn’t work on it at all since I last posted pictures of it (I was at uni!) However I am hoping with a little bit of green stuff and a lot of luck I can turn it into a decent looking transport for my Possessed!
Further help came from a Throner on the forums, who last year sent me some books to use in my conversion work!
So I went back to the first ever Word Bearer I painted yesterday and gave him a bit of a face-lift!
I eventually want to go through all of the standard marines I did way back when I started (over 5 years ago now). There’s two reasons for this. The first being I painted these in a rush. I wanted a painted army quickly and I just did a couple of squads as fast as I could.
Secondly I really struggled finding a paint scheme I liked. In the beginning it was just dark red with a black wash!
I really should have taken a before and after picture of this guy!
And here are some more pics of the final four marines.
Pretty glad this squad has been finished, as I can now move on to something else! The Possessed were okay to paint, but I am looking forward to doing something other than infantry!
This isn’t the best thing I have ever painted, but given the lack of enthusiasm I have for the models now I am pretty pleased with how he turned out!
I wasn’t going to bother using the back pack with the wings, because I think they look a little stupid. But in the end I needed to do something that would denote him as the squad leader, and this is the best I could do without cracking open the green stuff!
The ninth Possessed Marine is coming along slowly.
Truth is, after painting the Gal’Vorbak it’s hard to get enthusiastic about the possessed. I don’t dislike the models, but in comparison to their older brothers they are rather uninspired. Ah well, just three more to do!
Well, nearly. As always I need to finish the base. This isn’t a “great” paint job. It’s good enough, but the magic of these models has died a little bit since the Gal’Vorbak came along. Who’d have thought!
I may add a little more highlighting to the face tomorrow, but generally speaking I am just looking forward to moving on to something other than these guys!
