Work continues!
As I have mentioned quite a few times, I don’t own an air brush, so I spent most of my time so far painting red on with a good old traditional brush!
Hoping to get a lot more done over the weekend!

So yesterday some bits for my Land raider arrived in the mail!
This armour kit is from the Dark Works, and was sent to me by a great guy from The Bolter and Chainsword (thanks Biohazard!).
I added the candles over the headlights area (as my previous conversion work from about ten years ago had ruined the detail of the lights). I will also be adding some books (donated by our very own throner Commander Kraal!) to the front armour. So far so good. I don’t feel I can really do much more to this model, the armour plates are just so awesome, they don’t need anything else!
Well, the Landraider is still on hold as I await some stuff through the mail to finish it off!
So I have decided to paint up the remainder of my cultists!
I don’t really enjoy painting these as much as I thought I would. I have no idea why either, I love the idea of cultists, but I think somewhere in the back of my mind I know they are cannon fodder and not worth the effort!
My birthday hit recently and I got this stash of goodies!
As you can see, these aren’t Word Bearers! They are in fact two other forces I love. The Thousand Sons… and Tzeentch daemons!
The Word Bearers aren’t on hold or anything, this is very much a side project but I have run out of things people can buy me for my Word Bearers which doesn’t include confusing folks with Forge World!
Well, work is going slowly on the Land raider.
So far the basic green stuff has been done, loads more to be done though. I am also currently waiting on some more materials to be sent through the mail, so there is only so much I can do.
Truth is I find tanks dull at the best of times, but this tank is a husk of a model. It has so much damage done to it (all my own fault I have to add) that I can’t get the enthusiasm to keep going!
I may have to paint something soon to get away from it, and build up some enthusiasm!
Sorry for the lack of updates on the Landraider. My attention was diverted from it due to a “secret” project for someone else.
This make sit sound super exciting, but it was still painting related. But the owner of the minis has a good reason for keeping them secret!
Anyway, here is the plasticard work so far!
So far so good. I still need to smooth the edges of the card, and add some more rivets and such, but work has officially begun!
My Miniatures are in Warhammer Visions tomorrow!
It’s a great honour but at the same time It’s a shame the magazine has a limited audience! So much could be done with that format which they don’t do. No interviews with the people who make the amazing minis, no real guides (though admittedly there are some useful paint splatter stuff) and no articles from the ‘eavy metal team.
Seems like a missed opportunity!
Still, I am still pleased to have some of my minis in there! Really pleased!
So, what’s next after the Gal Vorbak and Possessed?
Some of you may remember a while back when I started this beast:
It is a little worse for wear, and to be frank I didn’t work on it at all since I last posted pictures of it (I was at uni!) However I am hoping with a little bit of green stuff and a lot of luck I can turn it into a decent looking transport for my Possessed!
Further help came from a Throner on the forums, who last year sent me some books to use in my conversion work!
Thanks Liam!
So I went back to the first ever Word Bearer I painted yesterday and gave him a bit of a face-lift!
I eventually want to go through all of the standard marines I did way back when I started (over 5 years ago now). There’s two reasons for this. The first being I painted these in a rush. I wanted a painted army quickly and I just did a couple of squads as fast as I could.
Secondly I really struggled finding a paint scheme I liked. In the beginning it was just dark red with a black wash!
I really should have taken a before and after picture of this guy!
Ah well.
Discuss this post here.
So, this is the finished Squad!
And here are some more pics of the final four marines.
Pretty glad this squad has been finished, as I can now move on to something else! The Possessed were okay to paint, but I am looking forward to doing something other than infantry!
