It’s been a while since I put brush to model due to focusing on gaming. I hadn’t played a great deal during sixth edition, and have found myself a great new club (Wardens of the North for those interested!) to really get into seventh.

Something that became glaringly obvious in my last three games was that the Chaos Codex is shit, and my army was composed largely of the shittest things in it. So in order to give myself a new edge in games I have decided to paint up some stuff that will make me slightly more competitive.

Behold, Word Bearer Plague Marines  – The Infected!

Just started the squad. These guys are some classic Plague Marines from way back in second edition (and older). I have some Forge World Plague Marines on the way too!

I wonder if I’m the first person to paint Plague Marines red?!

Slowly working away on this guy. Nearly done, hopefully have him finished by tonight!

Just have one more of these to go then I need to purchase another box to finish the squad off or convert some!

Okay, that’s the fourth possessed marine finished!

I now only have two more left to do, and then I need to either buy some more, or convert them to make them a full squad!

Not sure how I feel about the green goo. I tried to put it on the model sparingly so it suggests he is all plagued up, but not too much so that it makes him look more like a plague marine than a possessed Word Bearer.

Still, the goo itself is ace, will probably revisit some nurgle miniatures with it at some point in the future!

Nearly finished this guy. Need to do his back pack and touch up a few things like the bone spikes etc. Also need to add “special effects”. Something I’ve never done before but have decided to give it a go on this guy.
